Theater Experience

Audience Comments ..

Everyone was able to enjoy the laugh out loud comedic stories of Barry , his friends, and family.  I think it is a great insight into the deaf-blind culture.  With some fun stories about Jewish culture thrown in for good measure.  It sheds a new light on an often outcast portion of the gay community.

I have attended Barry's performance of his one-man-show, a comedy routine.  The performance I saw, and interpreted, was in March 2004 in Washington DC.  I enjoyed it very much and spoke with audience members who also were impressed with his show.  Barry performed numerous skits dressed in Drag and numerous skits relating to Deaf-Blind culture.  I found his stories to be humorous and well told, and I imagine others will really enjoy them as well.

Barry Segal is a wonderful actor. He makes audience cry, laugh, wow, etc. People were enjoyed watching his show and would like to watch him again in near future. He has talents on that performance. Congratulations and thank you for your entertainment.

I have seen his "Barbie Seguy's Comedy Show" where he did many standup jokes, one man show, several short skits and monologues. His life as a DeafBlind Gay male was conveyed freely without any inhibition. The audience was able to capture his outrageous sense of humor and thought provoking sentiments about the world around us.

Barbie SeaGuy One Man Show was a hilarious event for both Deaf and Hearing alike. There was not one person in the house who did not break out in laughter. I have not seen anything like this show and I recommend that anyone looking for a good laugh, step out and get their dose of it. Barbie Seaguy isn't to be missed!

You did a very good job, Barry.  We enjoyed seeing yo uperform.  We were also impressed by how many people were there.

- Roberta

It was very enjoyable program and terrific that you could entertain for over an hour. Congratulations and good luck.

Barry's stories poke fun at everyday realities which he faces, and reveal the innovation required to live in a world
set up willy nilly, often a world without insight into deafblind realities. His own spark and humor prevail. This alone is uplifting, but in the telling he also teaches us about our own hidden assumptions, which deserve to be skewered along with the rest. It was wonderful to see Barry's energy and focus on stage. His physical skills are clear.

Barry did a good job last night. My favorite story was GLBT beach in Provincetown.  Well done. And good luck with next performances.
