Hi!

My name is Barry Robert Segal.  I  was born in 1967 and was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.   I am DeafBlind -- I have Optic Atrophy.

I grew up involved with arts and theater.   I studied art during my college years at Gallaudet University.   I got my Bachelors of Science degree from Gallaudet University in 1993.  In 2000, I got my masters degree from the University of Minnesota, Minnesota and New York University, New York.

I have been teaching American Sign Language since 1997 in New York City and Washington, D.C. metro area.  I have my own business as a DeafBlind consultant.  SInce 1994 I  have been selling my DeafBlind Culture videotape, which I produced, directed and acted in.

I have been acting, dancing and singing in theater since I was 9 years old.  I performed in one man shows, comedy shows, musicals, dramas, plays, and skits.

Besides enjoying making art, acting in theater and teaching American Sign Language,  I love to travel and meet different people. I have very strong beliefs in diversity and equal rights.  I love to feel things and I love bright colors.

I started doing wall hangings with fabric and other materials 13 years ago while living in Minneapolis.  My work has been expanding since then. I also enjoy decorating my home with artwork. I love to go to art fairs and I enjoy selling my artwork at art fairs and exhibits in festivals.  I also like to do artwork on commission from my home.

I hope you enjoy my work.
